The Best Thing...
...about this blog is that me and Jamie can post together. So we don't have to bore you with two versions of the same story.
I reckon this will work for the first week, but once he gets right up my nose (as he invariably will!) we'll go back to seperate blogs where we can bitch about each other properly. So for a little while it'll be happy families here...
Speaking of happy families, this little family has just booked itself a hotel room in Sydney for the first night we arrive (thanks Deirdre, Ivan and Kate). It looks nice and is on Darling Harbour, the next day we will move to a hostel to begin the trip properly.

Birthday presents
It was my birthday last Friday and my wonderful family bought me some great gadgets for the trip. My parents bought me a pair of Pentax 10x21 binoculars and a pack towel. Dom bought me the coolest tool with all the essentials: pliers for repairing tent pegs/poles, screwdrivers for dismantaling anything and of course, a bottle opener and corkscrew for refreshment! I've just bought a hose for my old Platypus bottle which should fit in the Vaude pack I droned on about previously. Now I'm on my way to the Lowe Alpine shop now to see if there's a decent fleece on sale.
Anyway, loads more to get organised so I'll leave it for now. The interesting stuff won't start for another month ;-)
